Welcome to my world.
Hi there, thanks for stopping by! My known name is Charlotte. My given names are Chinwe Peace. Depending on which stage in my life we met, you will know me as either Chinwe, or Charlotte and may have nicknamed me Chin or Char. Charlotte tends to lean more towards the more professional me, and Chinwe, the more cultured, Nigerian babe, South Londoner side of me - both are authentically me!
My surname is Kuti, although this is my marital name and I am now divorced. My maiden name is Onwudiwe. I met my ex-husband in May 2012 and became pregnant with his child in May 2013. We got engaged in August 2013 and welcomed our Starboy Ezra in January 2014. We got married in October 2015, welcomed our Geniusboy AJ in October 2016, seperated in October 2023 and our divorce was finalised in August 2024. Are you keeping up?!
I am a self-confessed oversharer…because I believe that there is absolute strength in stories.
I fell into motherhood and to be honest, I found it extremely difficult for the first 5 years. However, my superpower is that despite the internal shock and overwhelm of what my life was, came a huge ability to organise our lives and give my children the very best structure, routine and play that is foundational and nurtures happiness and joy.
My marriage was in most parts, pretty shambolic. Although we loved each other deeply, we buckled under the weight of family pressures, unrealistic expectations and to call a spade a spade, toxicity. But despite this, I was able to create an environment that was calming, peaceful and joyful to host in. A place where my little family could come to and immediately feel safe and whole. And thankfully, my divorce has been as amicable as they get. We co-parent our boys well and have what I describe as a Co-Defendant love for each other built on the sheer volume of crap we endured together.
Professionally, I started as a Personal Assistant 14 years ago, and am now an Executive Assistant
Despite having a law degree and doing part of my LPC way back when, I quickly discovered that instead of being a magic circle commericial solicitor, I wanted to support and understand the mind of a CEO. I have always loved business, been fascinated by the commercial world, but more importantly, wanted to hear the conversations ‘at the top’ and know how the people at the top think. How they got to the top and what they do to stay there. As I’m a natural planner type, I wanted to play a part in the dealings at the top and what better way to do that, than to take on the admin, because arguably admin done wrong can have catastophic results, so done well, it is the most underated way of getting to the top! Over the years, my quick-thinking, calm and efficient approach, plus a sheer desire to constantly improve, has meant that I am now a Senior Executive Assistant, supporting an Investor Relations Partner covering the Middle East, in the oldest Private Equity Firm in the world.
Some other strings to my bow…
I also have a passion for weddings and have a wedding planning business on the side which I run with one of my best friends. I am an active friend, reliable daughter and general banter and encouragement giver. I love people. I love people’s stories. I am more positive than negative and I have an amazing spidey sense for things that won’t serve me (and avoid them). I have been told that I have a growth mindset - whatever your interpretation is of this, my firm belief is that, with the right level of drive, commitment, balance and vision, we can absolutely create an environment that is:
thriving
joyful
anything that you want it to be
The most important piece of the puzzle is how you manage time - and what your foundation is? It’s not about a lot of the other things we make it - it is simply about what you do with the hours you are given each day. I am delighted to create this platform as a way of sharing my learnings developed through my professional and personal life experiences to provide a holistic approach to organising your life.
